Biographie
Mario Mauro was born in Rivignano Italy. He moved to Quebec Canada in 1950 and lived there for the rest of his life. His mediums were oil, watercolor, mosaic and stained glass. His subjects religious and landscapes. His style Canadian impressionism focusing on his talent as a colorist.

He studied drawing, painting and mosaic at the Spillibergo Academy (1934), and painting at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan (1938).

When he arrived in Canada in 1950, he produced frescos, stained-glass and mosaics for churches in Quebec and other provinces. He began showing his landscapes in the early 1960’s with shows at the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica Inn, Le Château Frontenac in Quebec City, and at the Quebec Academy. He has had several solo exhibitions, in Quebec City, Montreal, and Ottawa. From 1972 he exhibited at the Saint-Jean Gallery in Quebec City.
