The painting of the lake Lac des Cygnes , in the Charlevoix region on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River as well as in the Laurentian Mountains area of the Canadian Shield probably resulted from the artist’s painting trip “North Shore” below Québec City in April 1973.
This painting is a fine example of Lorne Bouchard’s landscapes using realistic and impressionistic techniques catching the mood of the day and the effects of sunlight and atmosphere.
